Specifics of Swedish librarianship: public library and information services for minorities and migrants

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the current status of the Swedish librarianship and the public library and information sevices that the Swedish libraries provide to the local minorities and migrants. The thesis describes the present state and history of the field in Sweden and includes a questionnaire that was sent to chosen libraries across the country. It depicts the selected library projects that help integrating the minorities and migrants. This work should contribute to a better understanding of Swedish librarianship and its role in a culturally diverse society.
